Scraps for Any Occasion

I was getting ready to throw out a bunch of cardstock scraps when I thought to try and make a card out of them.  I had fun and I will be making a few more.  Eventually though I will throw out some of my scraps.  I have been accumulating them for way too long!  EEK! 😬 

SCRAPS FOR ANY OCCASION

HOW TO CREATE & ASSEMBLE:

1. Select several strips of different colored cardstock.  You can stay within a color family, or choose different shades of the same color, or be totally random.  This card allows for your artistic freedom.  
2. Adhere all of these strips diagonally across your smaller piece ( 3 3/4” x 5”) of white cardstock.  Trim off the excess. Use the scraps on your envelope flap and trimming them down. If there are still scraps that are big enough to use keep them for someone else or just toss them.  The point is to be using scraps of your paper. (Or, mine in this case)
3. Run this piece through the emboss machine in the embossing folder of your choice.
4. Now using the craft white ink pad, run it across the top of your embossed paper.
5. Select a ribbon or twine of choice and wrap it around this piece and tie with a bow (or knot for those who doin’t like to tie bows.  You know who you are)
6. On another scrap of cardstock stamp your sentiment and punch it or die cut it out.  Adhere to your card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals®. 
7. Using Dimensionals® adhere this to your card front.
8. For the inside, adhere the other piece (4” x 5 1/4”) of white cardstock to the inside and add a strip of colored cardstock.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• You will need scraps of different colored cardstock
• coordinating colored cardstock for the base of your card and sentiment on the front.
• scissors
• coordinating ribbon or twine
• I included the stamp set that I used for the sentiment and the embossing folder I used (below) however in class I had all of my embossing folders out along with a few optional sentiments for the card.
• the punch I used is no longer available so use any punch or die you have available.  That's the beauty of making these cards our own.  :0)
