FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS ANGLED GATE FOLD CARD

It's not too late to make some beautiful Christmas cards. Although this card sound complicated to make, it really isn't and I loved how it turned out. I love making Christmas cards and I hope you'll enjoy making it as well. I added the white on the insides so that there is room to write your message.  I could have also added the white to the back for my personal message.

FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS ANGLED GATE FOLD CARD

Cased from Rachel Tessman

HOW TO ASSEMBLE:

  1. After scoring your base cardstock, measure down 1” from both sides and place a mark. From that 1” mark, place the cardstock in your paper trimmer and cut to the top score line on both sides.
  2. Now mark 1” in from the bottom left and 1” in from  the bottom right. Using your paper trimmer, cut from that mark up to the outside corner on each side.
  3. Adhere the 4” x 5 1/4” piece of DSP to the inside of your card
  4. Brandish the folds of your card with your bone folder. Set aside.
  5. Run the larger piece of white cardstock through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the two oval dies. (You can discard the outer frames or save for another card.)
  6. Stamp the sentiments on the ovals die cuts. (The sentiment that you want on the front of your card gets stamped on the smaller of the two ovals and the inside sentiment on the larger of the two ovals.)
  7. Run the additional ice of evergreen cardstock through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the smaller oval die.  Use the “frame” to mat your inside sentiment. Adhere this centered on the inside of your card.
  8. This is where your card may look different than mine.  If you want the two flaps to be the same DSP, place the two pieces DSP with the same side to the inside together. If you want them opposite as I have in mine, place both pieces of DSP facing the same direction.
  9. Taking one of those pieces of DSP, holding it vertically:
    1. Measure 1” down from the left side and put a small mark on the paper.
    2. From bottom left corner measure in 1” and make a mark.
    3. Now place your two piece of DSP together in the direction you want (see #6) and with your trimmer cut from the left 1” mark to the top right corner.
    4. Still holding the two pieces together, cut up from the 1” mark on the bottom, up to your 1” cut on top left. If you want it truly “perfect”, bring the cut in @ 1/16” and not quite to the corner.
  10. Adhere your two pieces of DSP to the front flaps of your card.
  11. Cut the two pieces o white cardstock in the same way as you just did the DSP. Adhere these to the inside flaps of your card so that you can write a personal note on your card before mailing.  (You can leave the inside of the flaps alone if you don’t want to be able to write. Or you may choose to adhere a 5 1/4” x 4” piece of white cardstock to the back of your card for your personal message.)
  12. Optional: Adhere a strip of coordinating DSP to the envelope flap and trim to fit.

BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC

The fun thing about this card is that you can use up all your DSP scraps. It doesn't have to be a Christmas card either.  You can do this with any DSP, any sentiment, and any colors that coordinate with your DSP.

BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC

 HOW TO ASSEMBLE:

  1. On one of the pieces of white cardstock, line up your strips of DSP however you would like and adhere them.  Trim off the excess.  Adhere this to the piece of Soft Succulent cardstock.
  2. Wrap the ribbon around this piece tying the bow towards the top. Adhere this to your card front.
  3. Line the strip of white cardstock on the stamparjtus and stamp the sentiment in black.
  4. Slide the plate down two hinges and stamp the sentiment in with the Cherry Cobbler Ink. Using the punch, punch out the end and set aside.
  5. Take the Evergreen strip and punch out the end. Adhere the white sentiment strip on this. Adhere to the card front using dimensionals.
  6. On the smaller white strip stamp the sentiment in memento black.  Adhere it just below the “Believe” strip.
  7. On the second piece of white cardstock stamp the sentiment and adhere to the inside of the card.
  8. If you would like to add the little Santa hat stamp and color in and fussy cut it out then adhere to the card front.
  9. Embellish with red rhinestones.
  10. Adhere additional piece of DSP to envelope flap to coordinate.

WATERCOLOR BIRTHDAY

The fun thing with this card is that you can use any color combination or any of the multiple shapes in the Watercolor stamp set to create the look you want. I was trying to use colors that I don't use al that often and this is what I came up with.  Have fun creating your own version of the card.  It's super easy.

 WATERCOLOR BIRTHDAY

HOW TO ASSEMBLE:

  1. Start with both of your larger pieces of white cardstock and your envelope (if you want it to coordinate)
    1. Ink the stamps in the colors you want and start stamping.  Stamp your lighter colors first. Be sure not to dip stamps in different colors without first cleaning the stamp.
    2. On the smaller of the two pieces you will cover the entire piece.
    3. On the larger one, just stamp in the corner so that you bring the design in to the inside of your card.
    4. Stamp the flap of your envelope as well if you want it all to coordinate.
  2. Adhere the smaller one on to the piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock then adhere to your card front.
  3. Adhere the larger one to the inside of your card.
  4. Using the Stamparatus® , stamp the sentiment on the small strip of white. I used the Stamparatus® because I wanted to line up the two words of the sentiment and I knew I couldn't do it multiple times and get it right. Therefore, the Stamparatus®is not necessary.
  5. Using the punch, punch one end of the trip of Bermuda Bay cardstock. Adhere the sentiment strip to this.
  6. Wrap some of the rose gold thread around your fingers a couple of times and with a glue dot, adhere it down to the card front.
  7. Adhere the sentiment with dimensionals over the gold rose thread.
  8. Adhere gems. Unfortunately thee blue gems are no longer available so use any gem you have on hand.
