FLIGHT AND AIRY SPIRAL CARD

CASED Beth McCullough

  HOW TO CREATE & ASSEMBLE:

  1.   Start with your 4 1/4” x 11” card base scored at 5 1/2”.  Fold and burnish your card base at the score line.  Set aside.
  2. Stamp your inside sentiment on the (4” x 5 1/4”) piece of white cardstock then adhere this to the inside of your card. Set aside.
  3. Take your (4” x 5 1/4”) pieces of DSP and wrap your ribbon around the lower half, adhering it on the back side.
  4. Now take the slightly smaller piece of ribbon and bring it around the ribbon in the front and tie it in a knot; pulling tightly.  Cut off any extra length.  I used a glued dot behind the knot to adhere it into place and to prevent it from untying.
  5. Adhere this to your card front.
  6. Now take your (3 1/4”) square of freesia cardstock and adhere it to the front of your card just above the ribbon.  Set aside.
  7. Now take. Your 6” x 6” piece of DSP that has been scored at 1 1/2” on every side and cut out the 4 corners at the score lines (so you will end up with 4 - 1 1/2” squares)  You can save these little squares to create another card!
  8. Decide which color of your DSP you would like to see on the inside of your spiral box. Leave that side facing upwards then take on of the sides and fold it inwards and burnishing on the fold. Then, take the top corner of that fold and bring it down to the folded edge so you have a little triangle.  Burnish the fold line.
  9. Turn this counter clockwise and do the same thing to the next side doing the same for all four sides.  With the piece that is left on the 4th side, you will use that to tuck it under the other triangle fold. Set aside.
  10. Take your smaller square (3” square if you don’t want the DSP to show around it or 2 3/4” square if you want some of the DSP to show around) of white cardstock and stamp your sentiment.
  11. Open your spiral and adhere this to the inside.
  12. Close up your spiral and then put adhesive on the back and there it to the square on the front of your card base.
  13. For your envelope, run the flap through the embossing machine in the embossing folder

Belated Birthday Funfld

This is a quick and easy card to make.  If you notice I did not include the Designer Series Paper or the colored cardstock because this card is yours to create with whichever DSP you want to use and then of course, select the coordinating color of cardstock to work with the DSP. Have fun with it.
