FUN FOLD POCKET BIRTHDAY CARD

Here is another fun fold that I have seen different variations to.  Some where you open the flaps to a white base on the inside and this one with a card you pull out.  I have been going back to pins I have saved to see if I could see who I Cased this idea from and I can’t find it.  Maybe Lisa Curcio? Just know if it was your idea I cased, take this as a compliment and not that I am trying to take credit for your idea.  You can use so many different Designer Papers and/or stamps to create different looks.  Anyhow, when you do make these cards, pay attention to the direction of your designs. Have fun with it.  The ladies at the workshop did!

 CRISS CROSS POCKET BIRTHDAY CARD

HOW TO ASSEMBLE:

     1.     Using an 8 ½’ x 11” piece of cardstock, score down the middle in both directions. Turning the cardstock to landscape orientation, cut out the top right rectangle along the scored lines. Trim this piece down to 5 1/8” x 4” and set aside.

     2.      Keeping the cardstock in that same orientation, cut a diagonal line from the right top corner to the bottom middle score line.

     3.   Make another diagonal cut from the top left corner down to the middle.

     4.   Fold these flaps in and brandish with your bone folder.

     5.    Take a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of your DSP, paying attention to the direction and cut it diagonally.  (If you want both flaps to be the same, then you will need two pieces of the same DSP both 4 x 5 ¼” and this piece cut on the opposite diagonal.)

     6.    Adhere your two triangles of DSP to the flaps of your card. Fold them back down and using a very thin stripe of Multipurpose liquid glue adhere closed the open end of your card. (Forming a pocket.)

     7.    Run the piece of white cardstock through the emboss machine with the scalloped edge die (on the longer side.).  Stamp your sentiment on the bottom. Adhere this to the coordinating cardstock from step 1. This will slide into the pocket you formed on your card.

     8.    ON another piece of white cardstock, stamp the flowers then color with your Stampin’ blends. Run through die machine. Also die cut a small rectangle to stamp your sentiment on.

     9.    Die cut some foliage with the green cardstock.  Create a “bouquet” on the front of your card where the two flaps cross.  Orient it according to the direction you want your card to be and adhere it making sure not to adhere to the inside.  Adhere a little bow to embellish.

     10.  Adhere the sentiment using dimensionals.

     11.  Optional. Adhere a small strip of coordinating DSP to the front left of your envelope.
