CHRISTMAS CARD WITH GIFT CARD BAG

Cased Julie Baca

HOW TO CREATE & ASSEMBLE:

  1. Adhere the large piece of DSP (4 1/4" x 5 3/8") to the card front.  Set aside.
  2. Stamp the sentiment for the inside on the piece of white cardstock. Adhere it into the inside of your card. Set aside.
  3. Adhere the thin long strip of DSP (9 3/4" x 1 1/4') to the long strip of cardstock (10" x 1 1/2"). for this I prefer liquid glue.  This will be your bellyband.  Set it aside to dry
  4. Take the Large piece of DSP  (3" x 11") that has already been scored at  ½”, 1”, 5”, 5 ½”, 6”, 10”, 10 ½”and fold and burnish at every score line.
  5. Cut out the bottom corners in to the second score line on each side.  Then also cut out the little section in the middle from the 3rd to the 5th score line.
  6. If you have tear and tape adhesive put a strip (on the side you want showing) on the length of the first two narrow sections on one side. If you are using liquid adhesive put adhesive in each of those two sections.  You do not want the strip of adhesive to go across the score line. Fold over the other side and line the edges up. Now you can fold in at the middle score lines on each side and it looks like a box.
  7. Again, if you are working with tear and tape you can run a strip of it (on the pattern side you chose) on both the narrow long strips.  If you are working with glue, only do one side at a time. Remove one strip and butt that piece right up to the inside score line of the card on the side where the sentiment is.  Once you have that lined up correctly and adhered, remove the other strip of tape (or add liquid glue to the other strip) and close the card so it will adhere.  When you re open the card, your gift card bag will pop up. SURPRISE!!
  8. Take one of the ribbons and put a mini glue dot on each end on the same side of the ribbon and adhere it to the inside of your gift bag making sure that the handle does not stick out farther than the edge of your card.  Repeat with the other ribbon on the other side of the bag. Now the card part is complete.
  9. Grab your belly band and with your bone folder run it across the back of the belly band like you would if you are trying to curl a ribbon.  This makes it easier to wrap it around your card so that the band will slide on and off easier.
  10. Wrap the band around. Your card and adhere where the two ends meet.
  11. On your last piece of white cardstock stamp your sentiment and die cut it out.  Adhere it to the front of your belly band.
  12. Last touch, adhere your last piece of DSP to the flap of your envelope.  I slid mine down about 1/8” because since this card is a little fat and has the belly band the envelope kind of struggles to close properly on the given fold.
  13. Add a little piece of tissue paper.

 PEACEFUL GARDEN MERRY CHRISTMAS

HOW TO CREATE & ASSEMBLE:

  1. Run your (3” x 5 1/2”) piece of white cardstock through the die cut machine using the sentimental frame die on each side.  Be sure to pay attention to the directionality of the die, and line it up flush with the edge of your cardstock.  **Also, between cuts, you will want to use the pointy tip of your Take your Pick® tool to poke out all of the pieces of  cardstock that will remain stuck in the tiny holes.
  2. Stamp the sentiment offset to the right of this piece.
  3. Adhere this centered to the (4 1/4” x 5 1/2”)  piece of DSP.
  4. Take your ribbon (@22”), wrap it around the left edge of this paper tying a bow.  Trim off any excess.
  5. Adhere this to the front of your card base (4 1/4” x 11” scored at 5 1/2”) and you are DONE!
